Here’s a site using BitTorrent and RSS to create a "free community directory of progressive political media" (link via BoingBoing). We’ve seen an explosion recently in the use of the Internet as a delivery mechanism for all sorts of political discussion. It will be interesting to see if sites like this take off. Combine this with podcasting and some other trends, and we could see some strange but useful combinations of media develop. Perhaps we’ll eventually see a time when much of the punditry and analysis of news is done on the internet, while the networks and cable news shows move further toward straight reporting…

UPDATE: Paul Andrews at the Seattle Times thinks that CommonBits and similar uses of BitTorrent have implications for the future of TV as well (link via Slashdot).
