Tower of London not just home to the lion-hearted

The Tower of London has housed some of the most hideous criminals and unlucky monarchs in history, but it has been found to also be the storehouse of the royal zoo.  Scientists have found the skulls of lions that date back to the 13th century, around the same time the zoo was founded by King John, who reigned from 1199 to 1216.
