Discussing contemporary relevance: the Spanish Civil War
November 28, 2005
Neo-neocon posts an article on Literary Leftists that deals with Hemingway and Dos Passos and the Spanish Civil War, beginning in 1936. Having studied the La Guerra Civil while in Spain, I found this treatment fascinating, albeit incomplete (there is no way one could cover the conflicting ideologies of the war in such a short medium.) She uses the analysis to discuss the impact of "intellectuals" on conflicts in the present day. Read what she has to say – well worth the effort.
