Pitchforks Top 50 Singles

December 19, 2005

Pitchforkmedia, the world’s premier music snob (in a good way), lists it’s top fifty singles of the year. Pitchfork is famous for, in my opinion, finding some of the best music available and having a huge influence on a new artists success. It’s also notorious for blindly hating certain well talented artists and mysteriously loving every Ying Yang Twins remix. Nevertheless, they are more often right than they are wrong.

Highlights:

Kelly Clarkson’s "Since U Been Gone" ranks as number 4. (ludicrous if you ask me, this track is obviously the number one track of the year)

Gwen Stefani (unfortunately) graces the list with "Hollaback Girl." This song is just sorta lame until the line "This S#$% is Bananas, B A N A N A S," which is possibly the worst line in any song, in any genre, ever.

Number One — Antony and the Johnsons, "Hope There’s Someone". OK love this track. Point taken.
